Danie Cronjé Attorneys appointments Lizanne Visser as Director
Danie Cronjé Attorneys appointments Lizanne Visser as Director. Effective from 2 February 2026, the promotion reflects the firm’s continued focus on depth of expertise in Liquor Law and long-term leadership continuity.
Lizanne joined the firm at the end of 2022 as an Associate and has played an increasingly senior role in the business over the past three years. Her work has grown from preparing provincial liquor licence applications to managing complex client portfolios and providing strategic regulatory advice to businesses operating across the liquor value chain.
In her new role, Lizanne oversees the firm’s provincial liquor licensing practice, working closely with the team to ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy across applications. She remains directly involved in drafting and reviewing matters, engages with Liquor Authorities, advises clients on compliance and regulatory risk, and represents clients in appeals and related proceedings. She has also been instrumental in refining internal systems to improve how client matters are tracked and managed, supporting efficient turnaround times in a challenging regulatory environment.
Lizanne specialises in provincial liquor licensing, with a strong focus on wine farms, restaurants, and hospitality businesses. She is particularly known for advising clients operating non-traditional or evolving business models, where licensing requirements require careful interpretation and a practical understanding of both legal frameworks and commercial realities.
“I am motivated by solving practical problems where business practices evolve faster than legislation,” she says. “I enjoy working with clients to find lawful, workable solutions within the existing regulatory environment.” Reflecting on her appointment, Lizanne adds, “It is important to me to be part of a business that remains closely connected to its community, and that allows me to stay involved in what makes Stellenbosch such a meaningful place to live and work.”
Founder and Director Danie Cronjé says the promotion recognises both Lizanne’s technical expertise and her commitment to the firm. “She has demonstrated that she has acquired the knowledge and experience required to advise businesses operating in the liquor industry. She has also taken ownership of the business of the firm and is focused on maintaining and improving the level of service we provide to our clients.”
He adds that Lizanne has delivered strong results for key clients during a period where engagement with the Western Cape Liquor Authority has been particularly demanding. “Her appointment enhances the firm’s capacity to provide high-level Liquor Law advice to major role players in the industry. It also represents an important step in ensuring the continuation of the firm.”
Based in Stellenbosch, Danie Cronjé Attorneys is a specialist Liquor Law firm advising clients across the wine, hospitality, and liquor industries. The firm is known for its practical, hands-on approach and its ability to guide clients through complex licensing and compliance processes.
