Provincial Liquor Act Applications

Provincial licences are issued by the Liquor Authority in each province and govern all sales directly to the public. Examples includerestaurants, wine shops, liquor stores, wine estates, breweries, and similar establishments. Each province has its own application requirements, processing timelines, and conditions. Applications that are not properly prepared or miss procedural requirements are routinely delayed or refused.

We manage the full provincial application process: preparing and structuring the application, responding to objections, and representing clients where the matter proceeds to a hearing.

National Liquor Act Applications

The national Liquor Act governs large-scale manufacturers and distributors — businesses that produce or sell liquor to the trade, rather than directly to the public. Registration is regulated by the National Liquor Authority and operates independently from provincial licensing.

License & Registration Portfolio Management

Large retailers, restaurant groups, and beverage companies often operate across multiple municipalities and/or provinces under numerous licences. Managing these portfolios involves tracking renewal deadlines, compliance conditions, trading hour approvals, and legislative changes across the different Liquor Authorities. We manage licence portfolios for some of South Africa’s largest retailers and manufacturers.
